There is a particular kind of tiredness that comes with a new baby, and no parent should have to push through it alone.

A night nanny in Sydney gives exhausted families something priceless: a full night of sleep. Our experienced night nannies step in overnight, caring for your baby from around 9pm to 6am, so you can rest, recover, and be the parent you want to be during the day. Whether you have a newborn, twins, or a baby who simply will not settle, our overnight support is built around your family's needs.

Many parents first search for a night nurse for newborn care in those blurry early weeks, when sleep deprivation starts to affect everything from feeding to mood to recovery from birth. Our night nannies are calm, qualified, and discreet, slipping into your home routine and taking the pressure off at the hardest hours, then handing back to you in the morning feeling human again.

This is not a luxury reserved for a few. It is practical, restorative support that helps parents heal, protects your wellbeing, and gives your baby calm, consistent care through the night. Below you will find exactly what our night nannies do, our transparent rates, and the Sydney areas we cover.

Families come to us at all stages, some booking overnight support before their baby has even arrived, others reaching out in the thick of a sleep-deprived fog weeks or months in. Wherever you are, there is no judgement here, only experienced, compassionate care. A well-rested parent is a better, happier, more present parent, and helping you get there is exactly what our night nannies do best.

Good to Know

Cancellation Policy

We require a minimum of two weeks' notice to cancel or reschedule a booking.

Cancellations made within two weeks of the booked dates will incur a fee equal to 8 hours at the hourly rate you're paying per hour, per night booked.

This is because our Nannie's and consultants reserve those nights exclusively for your family and turn away other work to do so. The fee ensures they are fairly compensated for time they are no longer able to fill.

We appreciate your understanding, and we're always happy to discuss rescheduling wherever possible.

Is It For You?

Who Needs a Night Nanny?

New parents running on empty who need to bank real sleep to recover, especially in the demanding first weeks and months after birth.

Families with twins or multiples needing an extra set of experienced hands overnight, where the workload is simply too much for two parents alone.

Parents returning to work who need to be sharp for the day ahead and cannot afford to run on broken sleep indefinitely.

Anyone recovering from a difficult birth or illness who needs overnight support to heal properly and protect their mental health.

A Typical Night

What to Expect

Every family is different, but here is how a typical night of overnight support tends to unfold.

01

Handover

Your night nanny arrives in the evening and you run through the essentials: feeding preferences, where everything is, and anything specific about your baby that night. Then you head to bed with peace of mind.

02

Through the Night

Your night nanny handles wakes, feeds, settling, and changes calmly and quietly, following your plan. For breastfeeding families, they bring baby to you and settle them again afterwards, so you barely surface.

03

Morning Wrap-Up

In the morning your night nanny shares a clear summary of how the night went, feeds, sleep stretches, and anything worth noting, so you stay fully in the loop even while you rest.

Questions

Night Nanny FAQ

What does a night nanny do?
A night nanny provides overnight in-home care, typically 9pm to 6am. They handle feeds, settling, nappy changes, and monitoring through the night so parents can get unbroken sleep. Your night nanny follows your routine and feeding preferences, keeping overnight care consistent with how you parent during the day.
How much does a night nanny cost in Sydney?
Our night nanny rates start at $65 per hour for a standard night nanny, $85 per hour for twins support, and $95 per hour for a senior consultant, all plus GST. A booking administration fee of $500 plus GST applies. Because every family's needs differ, we are happy to talk through the right level of support and hours for your situation.
Can a night nanny support breastfeeding?
Yes. Our night nannies support breastfeeding families by bringing baby to you for feeds and handling settling and changes, so you feed and go straight back to sleep. This is one of the most popular ways breastfeeding mums use overnight support, as it protects both your supply and your rest.
Do you offer night nannies for twins?
Yes. We have night nannies experienced with twins and multiples, with a dedicated twins support rate to reflect the extra care involved. Overnight help can be truly life-changing for parents of twins, who often face the steepest sleep deprivation of all.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as you can, especially if you have a due date in mind or need regular nights, as our experienced night nannies book up quickly. That said, we will always do our best to help families who need support at short notice.
Is a night nanny the same as a night nurse?
The terms are often used interchangeably. Many parents search for a night nurse for newborn care when they mean overnight in-home support. Our night nannies provide experienced, practical overnight baby care, and if you have specific medical needs we can discuss the right fit for your family.
