Your booking isn’t just about helping your baby sleep better; it’s also about improving your own mental health. Here’s what you can expect during the sleep training process:
What to Expect During Sleep Training:
Initial Sessions:
- First Two Nights: We arrive between 6:15 - 6:30 PM and leave at 5:00 AM.
- Third Night: We arrive at 9:00 PM and leave at 5:00 AM to see how your baby responds to you taking over the first few hours.
Normal Reactions:
- Expect crying as it’s your baby’s form of communication. Night two may be louder as they recognise the change.
- Some babies may wake up tired and clingy, and some might vomit, poop, or try to climb out of the cot. These are normal reactions.
Learning Process:
- It takes about two weeks for a baby to fully adapt to a new routine, with significant changes noticed within the first three nights.
- We focus on teaching your baby to independently settle back to sleep, including the elimination of night feeds.
Regression Phase:
Around the 5th or 6th night, you may experience a sleep training regression. This is normal and expected, and we’ll support you through it.
Support and Communication:
- You’ll receive two weeks of phone and email support post-training. Write down your questions and contact us anytime.
- Each morning, we’ll provide a handover via text or chat. If your baby is sleeping, don’t get out of bed—we’ll send you a message and quietly leave
Practical Details:
- Room Arrangements: A spare room, bed, lounge, or floor space is all we need. If your kids share a room, we’ll work around your situation.
- Daily Handover: If your baby is still asleep, stay in bed. We’ll text you the update.
- Parking and Alarms: Let us know about parking and any home alarms beforehand to avoid disturbances.
Understanding Our Method:
- Our approach is not the “cry it out” method. Your baby will be with our team as we guide them to settle.
- Crying is expected, but we are always present to comfort and assist.
Preparation Checklist
- Leave out spare clothes, nappies, cot sheets, and sleeping bags.
- If you have a baby monitor, great! If not, it’s okay—we’ll spend a lot of time with your baby.
Customised Support
- We offer 3 or 5 nights of sleep training, a detailed schedule, and two weeks of phone or email support.
- Each baby receives an award upon completion.
Why SleepBaker is Successful
- We help parents see that their baby can sleep, and this success encourages them to continue.
- We understand the emotional toll. Sleep deprivation affects wellbeing and can cause conflicts. We’re here to support you through this.
Our Commitment:
We don’t cook, clean, or watch TV during the night. Our sole focus is on your baby and supporting you.
